Awesome! I was able to catch the premiere at the IMAX theater here in Sorrento Valley, Ca. (only So Cal showing). 199 LIVES by Greg Godfrey, who brought you the continuous 'Nitro Circus' films and the recently released video, 'Thrillbillies', goes to deeper levels in the life of Pastrana that have never been reported on before. The historical value is equal to that of the critically acclaimed 'The Godfather: Mike Metzger' film. It takes you back to Travis' childhood and the amateur circuit from Loretta Lynn's to the Florida Winter Olympics on into his simultaneous rise to super stardom via X-Games and the AMA Supercross/ Outdoor Nationals. I was at most of these amateur events and you will have to see the archive footage to understand how unbelievably fast he was on 80cc's. It talks about him breaking his back in his rookie year riding freestyle (on a jump only Mike Harris had done) on a 125cc and the grueling training regiments that it took to come back to competition injury after injury. There is also a brief section on some very dark and real topics of the car crash as well as Travis' screaming nightmares that have never been discussed. From the first FMX contest (Four Leaf/ Las Vegas) to his double back flip to rally cars, THIS IS A MUST for all core FMX fans!!
To a better night's sleep Travis,
deadking
